Novel modular actuator
In the recently published paper in physica status solidi (b) basic solid state physics on “Stress and Deformation Behavior of 2D Composite Cellular Actuator Structures of Ceramic Building Blocks and Epoxy Resins” from Dr. Fey’s group in collaboration with Prof. Kakimoto from Naygoya Institute of Technology in the framework of IRTGK 2495, the authors describe the influence of different excitation concepts on the stress and deformation behavior of modular structures. Special attention is paid to the strain amplification of 24% and the possibilities of zero deformation under load.
