The back cover to our publication ” Deformation Behavior of 2D Composite Cellular Lattices of Ceramic Building Blocks and Epoxy Resin” in Advanced Engineering Materials (https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1002/adem.202100536) in collaboration with our colleagues at NiTech Institute of Technology, Nagoya, Japan as part of IRTG 2495 is now out.

In the paper by Eichhorn et., modular composites of ceramic building blocks and epoxy resin are fabricated in the form of lattice structures with an ordered cell structure. The design of the cells can be controlled by varying the geometrical parameters. Their influence on the mechanical behavior as well as the strain amplification was investigated for Al2O3-PZT and PZT-PZT composites. Geometric structures were determined for both strain amplification and zero strain deformation under load.
