This is the latest paper on the characterization of auxtic honeycomb structures within the framework of the GRK 2495. In this paper we demonstrate as a new concept the determination of the mechanical strength of opaque ceramic structures by the use of non-destructive, stress-optical measurements on identical transparent structures together with collegues from Faculté Sciences & Techniques and Nagoya institute of Technology.

The paper is published open-source in Materials MDPI and accessible at https://www.mdpi.com/1996-1944/15/7/2361.
