PD Stephan E. Wolf Awarded FAU Teaching Award

Dr. rer. nat. Stephan E. Wolf, Privatdozent and head of an Emmy Noether research group at the Chair of Glass and Ceramics (WW3) of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, has been awarded the FAU Teaching Award.

The FAU awards this prize annually to young scientists who have made outstanding teaching achievements in their field. The faculties submit proposals to the university management, which decides on the award.

The “Findungskommission Lehrpreis der TF” cited as reasons for the honouring of Dr. Wolf, who conducts research in the field of biomimetic materials and processes, among other things, his repeated placements in the top positions in the regular teaching evaluation of students, his interdisciplinary and life-oriented teaching as well as his communicative and innovative didactics. “This award means a great deal to me personally, because only good teaching will one day lead to excellent research and responsible action in society,” says Stephan Wolf happily, “Scientists only become those whose curiosity is aroused and who can again wonder about something as seemingly simple as a shell.”
